Local 150 Sierra Leone Launches in Freetown

Local 150 of The Ethiopian World Federation, Incorporated officially launched in Freetown, Sierra Leone, on Coronation Day, November 2, 2026.

On November 2, 2026, as the Federation commemorated the 96th anniversary of the Coronation of Emperor Haile Selassie I and Empress Menen Asfaw, Local 150 – Sierra Leone held its official launch ceremony at the Negus Nagas Complex in Grafton, Freetown.

With this launch, Local 150 joins the active Locals of The Ethiopian World Federation, Incorporated.

The ceremony was open to all. The Local invited the Rastafari community, Black organizations, cultural activists, traditional leaders, community stakeholders, the media and the general public to witness this milestone.

A launch built on transparency

The occasion was also a moment of accountability. The Local's Executive Committee presented its achievements, ongoing initiatives, challenges and plans for the future to the media and the public.

This open approach reflects the spirit of the Federation: a Local grows stronger when its community understands its work and can take part in it.

A new voice for the Federation in West Africa

Local 150 strengthens the presence of the Federation in Africa, alongside the Locals of Ethiopia, Ghana and South Africa. Each new active Local brings its own history, culture and energy to our shared mission of Unity, Solidarity, Liberty, Freedom and Self-Determination.

The International Executive Council congratulates the officers and members of Local 150 – Sierra Leone and welcomes them warmly.
